General mobile has introduced two
Android-powered smartphones(General Mobile GM8 and GM8 Pro) based on Android
One platform, while also showcasing the last minute rumored GM 8 Go based on
Android Oreo Go OS.
The General Mobile GM8 and GM8 Pro are both
mid-range devices and are basically the same in terms of internal
configuration, but with slight variations in RAM and storage sizes. Made
entirely out of metal with a rear fingerprint scanner, the General Mobile GM8
and GM8 Pro flaunt a 5.7-inch HD+ (1440 x 720) display and powered by a
Snapdragon 435 64-bit octa-core processor with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage for the
General Mobile GM8 and 4GB RAM+ 64GB RAM
and storage for the pro variant. Been on the Android One platform, both devices
will get timely and prompt delivery of any available update.
Both devices use a 13-megapixel rear and front
snapper. The camera is accompanied by a LED flash, but the front-facing cam
gets with a f/2.2 aperture as against the f/2.0 of the rear camera. Both
devices get a 3075mAh non-removable battery and will run Android Oreo out of
the box.
General mobile has also joined the number of OEM to
have embraced the Android Oreo Go edition with the unveiling of the General
Mobile GM 8 Go, a variant of the GM8 and
GM8 pro targeted at those in search of devices that can deliver smooth and
satisfying user experience, which the Android Oreo Go offers.
It flaunts a 5.5-inch HD + (720 x 1440) display with
the trendy 18:9 aspect ratio and powered by a 1.3GhZ Quad-core MediaTek MT6739
SoC with just 1GB RAM and 16GB of storage. The storage can be expanded up to
256GB and will come powered by a
slightly larger 4500mAh battery.
The rear camera remains the same as that of the
General Mobile GM8, but the front-facing camera has been ditched for a lower
5MP shooter with f / 2.2 aperture. All devices are scheduled to hit the shelves
later in March.
