At this week’s Mobile World Congress 2018 technology
event taking place in Barcelona, Canon has unveiled a new camera smart flash in
the form of the Speedlite 470EX-AI with Auto Intelligent Bounce Introduction.
The smart flash uses integrated technology to automatically set the “optimal
bounce angle”.
The Speedlite 470EX-AI is equipped to detect the
distance to your subject as well as the ceiling in order to calculate the ideal
angle for the flash to achieve desired results, automatically. The flash head
then swivels in multiple directions to formulate the ideal bounce flash angle
and can even maintain defined exposure and bounce angles even when it’s user is
alternating between horizontal and vertical compositions. Maximum guide number
of 47 (154 ft./47m) at ISO 100. “As the world’s first flash with an AI Bounce
function (Auto Intelligent)*, the Speedlite 470EX-AI is equipped to detect the
distance to your subject as well as the ceiling in order to calculate the ideal
angle for the flash to achieve desired results, automatically.”
The Canon Speedlite 470EX-AI camera flash is now
available to preorder priced at US$ 400 throughout the US. No details on worldwide
availability have been announced as yet by Canon but the sooner small
