A mystery smartphone going by the name, Nokia
TA-1071 has cleared the FCC. Dimensions of the phone and a few other
connectivity features have been revealed. HMD Global is all set to “surprise”
us at the Mobile World Congress this year and this may be a part of that
surprise.
The design looks nothing like any of the recently
released Nokia smartphones. The design is not exactly boxy, rather it has very
distinct curved edges, making the frame look fat. Judging from the dimensions
which are 136 x 134 x 50mm, the mystery phone might have a 5.2 inch display. It
might be a full screen display since the diagonal length is only 5.35 inches.
Other features that have leaked include the
placement of the Bluetooth and WLAN antennas. Other than that the Nokia TA-1071
will have support for 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, 2.4GHz single band WiFi and the
usual set of connectivity bands. From the given details, we can guess that this
will be an affordable smartphone by Nokia. Neither HMD nor Nokia has mentioned
any affordable phone that is under development or will be revealed any time
soon, so this comes as quite a surprise. Clearly, Nokia is keeping things under
tight wraps and not letting a lot of information regarding this device out.
Hopefully we’ll get to know more about the mystery Nokia-TA-1071 in the coming
days.
