Apple’s three new iPhones later this year will come
with Face ID so it should come as no surprise that the company is also planning
to bring the technology to the new iPad.
Apple recently released the first beta of their iOS
11.3 software and it would appear that there are hints in the OS that Apple is
planning a new iPad. This new device is referred to as ‘modern iPad’ in iOS
11.3, when the iPhone X was first discovered in iOS it was listed as ‘modern
iPhone’.
This suggests that Apple is launching a an updated
iPad this year and the device is likely to include Apple’s Face ID technology.
This would mean that Apple would ditch the home button on the iPad and there
would also be a notch at the top of the display for all of the Face ID
technology.
As yet we have to heard many details about what
other hardware the iPad will come with, it is not clear as yet on whether this
will be a new iPad Pro or whether Apple is planning to introduce face ID to all
models including the standard iPad. we suspect that the high end models will be
the first ones to get the technology.
As soon as we get some more details on this updated
iPad, including some actual pictures of the device and a full list of
specifications, we will let you guys know.
