The Digital Amplifier Company has taken to
Kickstarter this week with the aim of raising the US$ 8,000 required to take their
new MEGAschino high powered amplifier into production. The new world-class
amplifier which takes pride of place as the company’s new flagship MEGAschino
Amplifier.
The
world-class high-powered audio amplifier is now available to back via
Kickstarter with pledges starting from US$ 990 and shipping expected to take place
during May 2018 if the Kickstarter campaign is successful.
The MEGAschino uses key parts of the Classic Cherry
design, such as a large toroidal transformer and a built-like-a-tank 16 gauge
steel chassis.Features of the MEGAschino amplifier include an auto sleep
feature that turns the system off after eight minutes if no audio has been
detected and powers up when audio returns. The amplifier is enclosed in a
heavy-gauge steel textured black brushed aluminium enclosure and is equipped
with a massive linear transformer separate channel power rails and a stereo
version is available.
The new MEGAschinos come supplied with black
faceplates and 750W transformers. The MEGA MONOs have one 750W transformer per
channel while a Stereo MEGA drives two channels with a single 750W
transformer. Options include 1500W
transformer upgrades and double or quadruple capacitance.
Note that quadruple capacitance is only
available on the MONO MEGA, however the company is also planning to offer a
2000W transformer upgrade in the near future. As soon as more details are made
