At the Mobile World Congress 2018 technology event
currently taking place in Barcelona, Huawei has unveiled a new Windows 10
laptop in the form of the MateBook X Pro. The Huawei MateBook X Pro Windows
10 laptop is fitted with a 13.9 inch display offering users a resolution of
3000 x 2000 pixels with 260 pixels per inch, and offering 100 percent sRGB
colour gamut together with up to 450 nits of brightness.
The display also uses low-power LTPS technology and
is being called the “world’s first FullView touchscreen notebook” thanks to the
ultra-thin bezel, which creates a 91 percent screen-to-body ratio and an
“intelligent cooling system” that supports both passive and active modes.
Internally the MateBook X Pro Windows 10 laptop can
be fitted with an Intel Core i7-8550U processor with optional support available
to install a NVIDIA GeForce MX150 graphics and up to 16GB of RAM with the
ability to install up to 512GB of solid state drive (SSD). The Windows laptop
is also fitted with a 57.Wh battery offering up to 12 hours of video playback
or 15 hours of web browsing. The laptop also supports fast charging allowing a
quick 30 minute charge to provide up to 6 hours of use.
Other features include Dolby Atmos sound technology
connected to quad speakers and a 4-mic array for recording 360-degree audio, a
fingerprint reader built into the power button as well as USB Type-A port, 2 x
USB Type-C ports with Thunderbolt 3 support an audio jack and USB Type-C
connection for powering the laptop. The new Huawei MateBook X Pro will be
available in select markets during Q2 2018 priced at € 1499 or roughly US$ 1,840.
