Hewlett-Packard has started taking preorders for its
new Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 equipped Windows 10 tablet PC offering one of the
first Windows ARM-based tablets to be made available. The HP Envy x2 will be
powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor supported by 4GB of RAM together with
128GB of UFS storage.
The HP Envy x2 2-in-1 tablet is fitted with a 12.3
inch display offering users a resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels, and measures
11.5 x 8.3 x 0.27 inches in size and weighs just over 1.5lbs says HP. If all
goes well the system will start shipping early next month from March 9th, 2018
onwards and prices start from US$ 1,000.
The ARM-based Windows tablet is equipped with a
rechargeable battery capable of powering the system for up to 22 hours, or 19
hours if you play full HD videos with the screen brightness at 150 nits and the
audio level at 50 percent, explains HP.
Hewlett-Packard will be shipping the Envy x2 Windows
tablet preloaded with Microsoft’s latest Windows Windows 10 S operating system
but if you prefer you can upgrade to Windows 10 Pro the no extra charge. But
remember that the ARM processor does have a few limitations and doesn’t support
x64 applications or those that rely on recent versions of OpenGL.
