Just one day after unveiling three fresh color
variants of the Essential Phone, Essential today announced yet another new
version of the handset. Called Halo Gray, the new model is unique because it
comes with Amazon Alexa built in - thus offering an alternative to Google
Assistant (the virtual assistant that's already available on all other color
variants of the Essential Phone).
The Halo Gray Essential Phone doesn't seem to be too different from the Stellar Gray model unveiled
yesterday. According to Essential, the design difference between the two is
that the Stellar Gray variant has a matte black ceramic back and black titanium
frame, while the Halo Gray device has a black matte ceramic back and
natural-colored titanium frame. Uhm, okay then.
The Halo Gray Essential Phone can be pre-ordered as
of today, exclusively on Amazon (see the first source link below), and will be
released on February 21. Unlike the Stellar Gray model, which will be sold by
Essential for US$ 599, the Halo Gray handset is offered by Amazon for US$ 499. Both
devices come unlocked, and have identical specs.
