Contrary to one of our published report where it was
opined that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 may have been replaced with the Redmi 5,
fresh reports from China claims that work on the long-awaited device is in top
gear. If the latest report surrounding the highly anticipated device is true,
then the latest leak could provide us with the first unofficial hands-on look
at the Redmi Note 5’s design. Purported images and specs of the device have now
surfaced from China giving us a brief insight of what to expect from the
upcoming device.
In a not too surprising revelation, the leaked
images suggest the device will adopt the trendy full-screen display with
minimal bezels surrounding a 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with 1080 x 1920 pixels
screen resolution. Furthermore, it is evident from one of the leaked images
that the device will have dual 12-megapixel sensors at the back with a LED
flash and a fingerprint sensor below it, while a single 5-megapixel camera
sensor is expected to sit on the tiny front bezels.
Though we are not entirely sure how real this is, so
we advise you to take it with a pinch of salt, a different report claims one of
the reasons the company has delayed the release of the Redmi Note 5 is due to
the fact that the device will be using the unannounced Snapdragon 632
processor. The SoC with a clock speed of 1.8GHz is said to be better optimized
for dual camera setup and will be mated with a 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and a
4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
The device is reportedly under internal testing and
will debut in Quarter 2, 2018 with a price tag of CNY 1599 for the 3GB variant.
