Available towards the end of February, NOW TV has
announced the NOW TV Smart Stick for £ 14.99. The NOW TV Smart Stick is Roku
powered and now lets you pause live TV on all NOW TV’s premium channels
including Sky Sports, FOX, Comedy Central and Sky Atlantic. It will also give
you access to some of the UK's catch-up services, including BBC iPlayer, ITV
Hub and All 4, and you can download over 50 apps including YouTube, Sky Store
and Vevo.
The Smart Stick is also the first NOW TV box that
comes with a remote featuring Voice Search technology that helps you to quickly
find your favorite shows, films, actors or directors.
NOW TV's Smart Stick provides a low-cost option to
turn a 'dumb' TV or HDMI equipped monitor into a 'smartish' TV. Be warned
though, as its raison D'être is to drive viewers to Sky's content; it comes as
no surprise that competitors like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video are not
supported on the platform.
With NOW TV you are not tied to any contract but
instead, buy a month of access at a time:

Currently Sky's content on NOW TV is 720p only with
1080p promised for sometime this year.
