At CES, Dell announced a new update version of its
popular ultra-portable clamshell laptop: the XPS 13. Along with a new
higher-res 4K display, the new XPS 13 will also come with the latest 8th
generation Intel processors to offer a bump in performance and efficiency with
up to 11 hours of advertised battery life.
There will be two colors available: Silver and Rose
Gold. The silver model has a darker gray-colored palm rest and keyboard while
the outer shell is, well, silver. Meanwhile, the Rose Gold option has a
goldish-pinkish lid and the rest of the laptop is white.
The new XPS 13 offers slimmer bezels and a new
Infra-red camera for Windows Hello authentication and four integrated microphones
for voice recognition and Cortana capabilities. Of course, this laptop is part
of the new trend to put web cameras below the display, which may be awkward for
those who do a lot of video conferencing.
Microsoft’s website sell the 4K version, but if you
care more about battery life, you can find the 1080p version on Dell’s website
starting at US$ 949.
