Drone pilots may be interested in a new haptic drone
joystick developed by start-up MotionPilot, to enable drone pilots to fly
drones using just one hand and feel the movement of their drone in a more
intuitive way. The new range includes a haptic feedback technology that is
capable of providing pilots with a sense of the drone’s position as it moves
through the air.
The drone control joystick offers pilots three modes
to choose from, with each one corresponding to a different ability level, so
even experienced users can enjoy a challenge, say its developers. When set to
the beginner mode, the system will automatically control the drone’s
trajectory, making the flying experience as easy as possible and reducing the
chance of any fatal crashes. For more skilled pilots the intermediate and
advanced modes allow for increasing user control and freedom. All modes can be
selected using the companion smartphone application, which can also be utilised
to tweak the control system even further to your exact requirements.
The prototype haptic drone joystick was recently
showcased by MotionPilot, who said existing drone pilots were impressed with
the unique haptic flying system. Although no details on worldwide availability
or pricing have been revealed as yet by MotionPilot. But as soon as any more
news comes to light we will keep you up to speed as always. In the meantime
