Elephone has just published some
interesting details on their official website regarding the upcoming Elephone U
and Elephone U Pro. The main selling points of these devices are the use of the
powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 as well as the curved AMOLED display which are
currently only available on the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note8. So, if the
Elephone U and U Pro will actually get these curved AMOLED displays, they will
become, respectively, the 3rd and 4th smartphones equipped with such screens.
The displays for the Elephone U and Elephone U Pro
are made by BOE. In China, there are many famous smartphone manufacturers like
Huawei, Xiaomi, Meizu and OPPO but the Chinese display maker decided to give
their first flexible display to Elephone. That’s because of the positive
feedback the company has had with their latest devices, we’re mostly talking
about the Elephone S8.
The Elephone U Pro will be
equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor and a 5.9-inch FHD+ AMOLED
screen which grants an 89.9% screen-to-body ratio. The Elephone U Pro will also
pack 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage in the top version, as well as dual main
13MP Samsung cameras optimized with Arcsoft algorithms to create that nice
shallow depth of field effect and increase image quality when shooting at
night.
The back cover of the Elephone U Pro will be created
using the same technologies as the Elephone S7 and Elephone S8, using Corning
Gorilla Glass with 4 sides rounded. The case is made of aluminum alloy with the
use of ceramic anode technology, which should feel very comfortable to hold in
hands. In addition, the Elephone U Pro supports fast and wireless charging, as
well as NFC.
