Chinese electronics maker has been very active in
the last weeks. They are currently running a campaign on Indiegogo as well as
showing off some new tablets and a mini PC at the CES2018 taking place in Las
Vegas.
Let’s begin with the Indiegogo campaign where Chuwi
just reached the $200K stretch goal for its 2-in-1 tablet powered by an Core M3
processor – the CoreBook. The promise of upgrading the 128GB of eMMC 5.1
storage to SSD for every backer is officially a reality (and free).
The Chuwi CoreBook campaign will come to an end in 5
days (at the time of writing), so if you’re still unsure you should hurry up,
because, according to various rumors, the product will be from $20 to $50 more
expensive after the campaign is over. Click here to check out the Indiegogo
page. Either way, backers are going to get a laptop with the specs below:
- 13.3 inch FHD touchscreen with 2.5 D glass design
- Core M3 7Y30 processor,Intel HD Graphics 615
- 8GB of RAM, 128 GB of SSD storage
- Fingerprint recognition sensor
- 12V/3A (36W) quick charger
As far as Android tablets go, Chuwi just launched
the Chuwi Hi9. A tablet equipped with a MediaTek 8173 chipset that is coupled
with a GX6250 GPU and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat to guarantee a good Android
gaming experience. The Hi9 sports a 8.4-inch with an insane 2560*1600
resolution on a 16:9 IPS display, which makes it a great device to read text
on, due to the high pixel count. To make sure you always have enough memory and
space to run and store games, apps and data, Chuwi also equipped with it with 4
GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage (expandable to up to 128GB).
The built-in 5,000mAh battery will then provide 7 to
8 hours of autonomy, it supports 5V/3A charging, bluetooth 4.0 and it features
a 2MP front facing cam and a 5MP rear shooter. You can currently purchase the
Chuwi Hi9 for only US$ 179.99 during the flash sale. Price will rise up to US$ 199.99
when the promotion is over.
Chuwi
is also working on another Android tablet named Hi9 Air. Which, judging from
the name we expect to be thinner than the older brother, just like what they
did with the LapBook Air.
The Hi9 Air will be coming with a bigger 10.8-inch
3:2 IPS screen and it’ll be powered by the same MediaTek 8176 chipset paired
with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (expandable to 128GB). The tablet will run
on Android 8.0 Oreo and sport a 1920*1280 resolution. Lastly, the device will pack a surprisingly high
resolution 5MP front camera and an 8MP rear one as well as a fingerprint
scanner.
At the CES 2018, Chuwi also showed off a mini pc
called GBox Pro equipped with the new 8-gen Intel core i5 processor coupled
with an HBM2 GPU. It comes with a remote controller in the package and plenty
of expansion interfaces.
Finally, the new Chuwi SurBook Pro with an Intel
Gemini Lake CPU, a 12-inch 3:2 IPS display with a resolution of 2160*1440
pixels, along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (expandable to 256GB) has
been launched. The 2-in-1 tablet/laptop also packs a 2MP front facing camera
and a 5MP rear camera.
