Chuwi has launched a good number of products in the
years they’ve been around, but if there’s one product that made them earn
popularity in the tablet market, that would be the first Chuwi Hi8 tablet.
Now, with the trust brought by the Hi8 moniker,
Chuwi decided to release a new tablet – namely called Chuwi Hi8 Air – which is
set to run on both Microsoft Windows 10 and Android 5.1 operating systems.
The Chuwi Hi8 Air is definitely an upgrade over the
Chuwi Hi8 Pro as it will come with an 8-inch display sporting 1920*1200
resolution and an 16:10 aspect ratio. Under the hood we’ll instead find an
Intel X5 Cherry Trail Z8350 processor with base frequency clock at 1.44 and a
turbo frequency clock of 1.92Ghz, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of eMMC with support for
up to 128GB expansion.
The Hi8 Air will feature a metal back cover with a
space grey/silver finish on top and an all-metal frame around the body; the
tablet will also boast an OGS fully laminated LCD and a 4000mAh capacity
battery underneath it.
As far as connectivity goes, the Hi8 Air comes with
1*micro USB, 1*micro HDMI (1080P output), a 3.5 mm headphone jack and Bluetooth
4.0. Inside the product box you’ll find a 5V/2A charger, an OTG cable and a
bluetooth keyboard.
Obviously, the specs on the Chuwi Hi8 Air aren’t
earth shuttering by any means, even compared to previously launched Chuwi
tablets such as the SurBook Pro, Hi9 Air and more. Nevertheless, Chuwi states
that the device is more aimed at students on a tight budget, and we expect the
tablet to come at a very affordable price.
