Chuwi GBOX

The curtain of CES 2018 has fallen a few days ago and during the show, Chuwi announced 3 of their new devices for this year: Chuwi SurBook Pro powered by Intel Gemini Lake processor, Hi9 Air tablet equipped with Mediatek 8176 SoC running on Android 8 Oreo out of the box, and GBox Pro (mini PC) that comes with Intel i5 processor. And now they seem to be getting ready for another Mini PC called GBOX, which will be loaded with the first global Gemini Lake N4100 chipset.

So, why Gemini Lake N4100 chip? Because it offers up to 50% performance improvement compared to the previous gen CPU, DDR4 support for faster data transfer, 4K UHD HEVC 10-bit support, and up to 2.1 times of web browsing experience. Also, it has up to 3.2 times faster graphics, integrated Gigabit WiFi, VP9 hardware decoding, and up to 10 hours of battery life, compared to the last-gen chipset.

And unlike other products before, this time Chuwi wants the users to decide about the product’s design and configuration. So, you can choose one out of three designs proposed with each one made of different materials (engineering plastics, aluminum – magnesium alloy, carbon fiber). In addition, you get to choose the RAM amount, storage capacity, storage expansion choices, provided ports (HDMI, VGA, Type-C, RJ45, USB ), and even the operating system (Windows, Windows+Ubuntu).

So if you are interested in such kind of product and want to have a say in its overall production, here’s your chance to shine. Vote and make it happen exactly the way you desire. And as always, Chuwi will run a giveaway on the site.
