If your home wireless network suffers from wireless
dead spots, a consumer mesh router system might be worth more investigation and
help you create a more robust wireless network around your home or small
business. Rather than just creating a mesh router Asus has taken the technology
one step further and integrated an Amazon Alexa equipped smart speaker into
their new Asus Lyra Voice mesh router and speaker system.
Combining both wireless connectivity and home
automation in one unique and aesthetically designed piece of hardware which has
been finished with a soft effect fabric casing. The Lyra Wi-Fi hubs can easily
be configured using the companion smartphone application to create a mesh of
wireless connectivity that supports 802.11ac. Allowing you to enjoy streaming
music to every corner of your home without any disruption. Thanks to the Amazon
Alexa integration users can also check the weather, ask questions and control
other smart appliances which are currently supported by the Amazon personal
assistant.
Unfortunately Asus has not announced pricing for the
new Lyra Voice mesh router and speaker, although Asus has indicated that the
new hardware will be available to purchase sometime during the first half of
2018.
