Exactly a month back we wrote about the Xiaomi Mi
MIX 2 all-ceramic white version to go on sale. As you know, this is the higher
version of the original model wholly made of ceramic. Its housing looks like a
piece of natural jade. So it takes longer and harder to manufacture such a
housing. Say, the ceramic body should go through 1400 C high temperature for 7
days and 240 tons molding.
Moreover, the 0.01mm cutter head, which is used for
the repeated carving is replaced with each phone. This is the main reason why
the all-ceramic variant costs more at 4699 yuan ($709). Anyway, the white
version is already out, and we know it’s one of the best full-screen
smartphones around the globe. Today the company announced the all-ceramic black
variant will appear on shelves starting December 5 at 10:00 AM.
As for the features, the black variant of the
all-ceramic Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 sports the same specs list including a 5.99-inch
screen with a Full HD resolution and a 403ppi pixel density, Snapdragon 835
chip, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, 5MP front shooter, 12MP rear
camera with a 1.25um large pixel size, f/2.0 aperture, and 4-axis OIS, and
3400mAh battery. It also supports 4G connectivity at 6 modes and 43 frequency
bands in 226 countries.
This is a top-notch handset with a stylish look and
great hardware. Thanks to a unibody ceramic design it is very thin at 7.7mm.
Thus the thickness is identical to the metal-frame variant, while the length
and width have been shortened by 1.3mm and 0.9mm, respectively.
