A Special Edition of the Xiaomi Mi A1 has been
introduced by the manufacturer. What makes it so special? Glad you asked. This
variant of the phone is wearing a vivid red color. Outside of the new color,
nothing about the phone has changed despite the Special Edition moniker.
The
model is equipped with a 5.5-inch LCD display carrying a 1080 x 1920 resolution
(FHD). Powering the handset is the Snapdragon 625 chipset which includes an
octa-core 2GHz CPU, and the Adreno 506 GPU. 4GB of RAM is inside along with 64GB
of native storage. Those seeking additional storage can access the 256GB
capacity microSD slot.
The Mi A1 comes with a dual-camera setup in back.
Both snappers weigh in at 12MP with one offering a wide angle view, and the
other shooting with telephoto capabilities. A 5MP front-facing camera handles
selfies and video chats. Keeping the lights on is a 3080mAh battery, and there
is a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. Besides the new Red color, the Xiaomi Mi
A1 is available in Black, Gold and Rose Gold.
The Special Edition is available for the moment only
in Indonesia, where it is priced at IDR 3.099.000. At current exchange rates,
that works out to US$ 228.
