There is an adage in Greece that says “They shoot
the horses when they get old” but that isn’t applicable to smartphones. Vkworld
F1 is an old model from January 2016. It sports a 4.5″ small screen, which is
very unusual in today’s market as almost all devices today are over 5″. But
there are still some people who need smaller phones, like older people who
aren’t very tech savvy and just need a phone to communicate with their family.
For that reason, the company will resell the F1 adding lots of features that
make it ideal for the elderly.
Firstly, to make the UI easier to look at, the font
size is 5 times bigger than normal size. And also vkworld designed a new UI
with much bigger icons and simpler functions. Therefore, old people don’t have
to spend a lot of time finding what they want. Also, they have simplified most
of the functions to be just as easy as feature phones while still being able to
access the internet and use smartphone apps.
In addition, Vkworld has also put a much louder speaker
for people with bad hearing and the phone speaks out the phone number when you
receive or make a phone call. Moreover, there is an SOS emergency call button
on the home screen. When you are in danger, you can enter SOS function and
activate the SOS emergency ringtone as well as make an SOS phone call for help.
However, if you don’t like this UI, you can still turn it off and use regular
Android UI.
The F1 is pretty much the same as
before, with MT6580 SoC, 1GB RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The rear camera
is 8MP and the selfie camera 5MP. Its price will be around US$ 50 and is going to
be available any time now.
