In the last month Xiaomi announced the arrival of a
special red colored unit of Mi5X, that would arrive at market during November.
The new variant is finally arriving to consumer on this week as a nice option
to meet the interest of colored smartphone lovers or anyone wishing to leave
the “standard color box”.
Apple wasn’t the one to “invent” the red colored
smartphones, Gionee have been doing this for a long time. However was the
2016’s red iPhone 7 that popularized it and suddenly a lot of brands started to
go on this multiple colors route.
The Apple handset had a mix of a red colored alloy
back with white bezels around the display. The Mi 5X in counterpart brings a
red colored back with a black front panel and on this writer’s humble opinion
the result looks much better than Apple’s solution.
The Red Mi5X is as the name suggest is just a red Mi
5X, no special addition or gimmick. The variant still retains all the
specifications from the standard Mi5X. The same Snapdragon 625 paired with 4GB
RAM and 64GB is found beneath the 5.5-inch FHD display. On the stunning Red
rear we have the same 12MP dual camera sensors, yet in the camera department
there is a 5MP unit on the front to ensure selfie lovers pleasure. All the
lights are kept by a 3,080mAh battery.
Worth nothing to mention that Xiaomi is step by step
increasing its multiple colored portfolio. The company already launched Mi6 and
Mi Note 3 in Blue color variants and now this Red Mi 5X come to join in the
gang. We are looking forward to see if this will continue in the next years and
if will expand further more. Some will still prefer the standard color options,
like black or white, but it’s always better to have something to differ when
you get bored of the standards.
