Samsung is one of the few manufacturers that still
makes flip phones. However, its flip phones come with dual screens and pack
flagship specs in most cases. Samsung is expected to launch a new flip phone
this month currently called the SM-W2018 and live photos of the phone have
surfaced online.
The Samsung SM-W2018 is reported to feature dual
4.2” FHD displays. From the pictures we can see that both the external and
internal displays have bezels. The alphanumeric keypad is shown to have a
brushed metal design.
The back of the SM-W2018 appears to be glass judging
from the visible fingerprint smudges. The main camera sits in the middle and is
flanked by a LED flash on the left and a fingerprint reader on the right in a
design similar to that of the Galaxy S8.
The phone is rumored to come with a Snapdragon 835
processor, though some have said it could be a Snapdragon 821. Storage is said
to be 64GB with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM.
It will have a 12MP rear camera, a 5MP selfie
camera, and a 2300mAh battery. There is also a possibility that it will come
with an iris scanner according to the source who posted the pictures. Samsung
has not announced a release date but sources say it will launch this month as a
China-exclusive.
