The OPPO R11s has been a topic of discussion for a
few weeks now. However, between recently leaked renders of the phone and specs
raining through their normal outlets, we were pretty much expecting to see what
we saw.
Hardware-wise, something that does stand out is what
OPPO calls the phone’s “crescent arcs”, which prevents the user’s hands from
blocking the sound output while watching video or playing games. The company
had to modify the headphone jack and microUSB port in order to accomplish this.
ColorOS 3.2 brings improved performance and
efficiency. The new update also brings Split Screen mode. Facial unlock is part
of the feature set here as well, incorporating artificial intelligence to
recognize its user. Face unlock can act as quickly as 0.08 seconds.
The OPPO R11s offers a high performance mode for
gaming at 60fps on the Snapdragon 660 CPU. Pair that with 4GB of RAM and 64GB
of expandable storage for storing plenty of games, music, and video.
The R11s has a 6.01-inch AMOLED display with FHD+
resolution at 2,160 x 1080 pixels, protected by Gorilla Glass 5. Over the
screen is OPPO’s 20MP selfie camera with ai-based beautification. The main
camera carries over from the OPPO R11: a dual camera system, combining a 16MP
camera and 20MP one. Both cameras have f/1.7 apertures.
The OPPO R11s will be available starting November 10
in China in three color options: Red, Black, and Champagne. The refreshed OPPO
R11s will cost CNY 2,999 for the Black and Champagne models while the Red paint
job is available for a CNY 200 premium at CNY 3,199.
