Epson recently launched two smart glasses that's
designed for commercial and even industrial use. Meet the new Moverio BT-350
and Moverio Pro BT-2200.
The Moverio BT-350 and Moverio Pro BT-2200 have
enhanced durability and flexibility for improved augmented reality experience
aimed for commercial and industrial use. Both has binocular see-through
augmented reality capabilities and HD image qualty. Epson has been known for
great optical and precision technologies for years and these are no exception.
The Moverio line of smart glasses has micro
projectors placed on each side of the eyeglasses that project transparent
overlays or "holograms" of digital content in wearer's field of view
over his surroundings.
The Epson Moverio BT-350 are the first smart glasses
that are mass produced to cater to the busy, commercial sites where glasses are
used by multiple users. It will come with its innovative docking station to
easily manage your devices.
The main aspects that the Moverio BT-350 focused on
are ease of use and accessibility. Sharing content and experiences through
these smart glasses is made easier. Build and durability did not take a back
seat as well. It has great flexibility and better adjustment capabilities
compared to previous models. Museums, city tours, and amusement parks can
benefit from this for sharing information and fun in a new, hi-tech way.
The Moverio Pro BT-2200 smart headset, on the other
hand, is designed for critical industrial needs. It has a rugged and durable
form factor that is built around the concept of helmet-mandatory environments.
The AR-ready capabilities of the headset allows workers to see exactly how
their plans scale to their specific location. The headset comes with a hinge
specifically designed to fit over helmet brims.
The BT-2000 also comes with a built-in stand alone
voice command system and to create user interfaces on head-tracking and gesture
control. It also has a wired control pad and ambient light sensors. It has GPS,
Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi connectivity.
Lastly, the glass used complies with ANSI Z87.1
safety glass standards. It also has IP54 certification for dust and water
resistance. The Epson Moverio BT-350 and
Pro BT-2200 smart glasses are slated for a Q4 2017 availability in Singapore,
Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and the Philippines.
