Apple is said to launch the iPhone SE second
generation in the first half of 2018 according to Taiwan’s Economic Daily News.
The second generation iPhone SE, tentatively named iPhone SE 2 will be
assembled exclusively by Taiwanese manufacturer Wistron at its factory in
Bengaluru, India where the current generation iPhone SE are being made.
The iPhone SE 2 new rumors release date falls in
line with the previous reports from ‘Focus Taiwan’ who back then claimed that
the new iPhone SE would start shipping in the first quarter of 2018 which is
from January to March. The current
iPhone SE was launched back in 2016 in March and went on for sale a month
later. Taking the cue from the previous launch, the new SE 2 might be announced
around the same time.
According to the earlier reports, the iPhone SE is
said to be powered by the Apple’s A10 Fusion chipset, 2GB RAM with 32GB and
128GB storage capacities. A 12MP rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, and a
slightly larger 1,700 mAh battery. These are just rumored specs; the official
specifications might vary once the company makes it official.
Apple didn’t refresh the current SE model, it just
doubled the storage from 64GB to 128GB in March and had even slashed the
pricing of it.
