Xiaomi call themselves a ‘software company’ thanks
to MIUI, but there’s no denying that the main thing keeping their momentum high
are their Mi-line of devices. Besides making phones, Xiaomi also do tablets,
home appliances, luggage, and especially TVs which are what Xiaomi launched
earlier today.
The Xiaomi MiTV 4C features very slim bezels and
pack some interesting hardware inside, with an Amlogic T962 processor (4 core
1.5GHz A53, Mali 450 750MHz), 2GB DDR4 memory and eMMC5.1 flash memory to the
dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. They can play also Dolby and DTS encoded
movies without external players needed.
Specificationally, the MiTV 4C is almost identical
to the MiTV 4A. The main difference between the two being that all MiTV 4C
models have slimmer bezels at only 0.9cm. The MiTV 4A models had slim bezels
too, but they weren’t this slim. Outside of that, they’re practically the exact
same device.
The prices start from 2099 Yuan (US$ 317) for the
smaller 43-inch model with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. The larger 55-inch
model packs a 4K resolution over its sibling’s 1080p and has an extra gig of
RAM, bumping the cost to 3099 yuan (US$ 468).
