Huawei announced its flagship Mate 10 series in its
Home country of China last week, but without much frenzy, the company seized
the opportunity to announce its latest smartwatches to the Chinese market. Dubbed
Huawei Watch 2 Pro and Huawei Watch 2 Pro Porsche designs are the successor to
the watch 2 classics.
With a designs reminiscence of Huawei Watch 2 Classic, both devices are two
similar devices, but with few differences. Both devices are made entirely of a
stainless steel body with a ceramic bezel around the display, the watch 2 pro,
however, has an Italian leather strap, while the Watch 2 variant features a
Porche design logo on its bezel and a leather strap with red Porsche design
stitching.
Both devices come with IP68 certification for dust
and water resistance.They feature circular 1.2-inch AMOLED displays with
corning gorilla glass protection resolution of 390 x 390 pixels. They both boot
Android Wear 2.0 out of the box and powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon
Wear 2100 SoC with 768MB of RAM and 4GB of storage.The biggest highlights of
other devices include supports for an eSIM for 4G LTE connectivity
independently from a smartphone.
Other specs of the mate 2 pro include 420mAh
batteries that can with a standby time of up to 1.5 days on a single
charge.Also on board is a dedicated heart rate sensors, sport GPS and Beidou
for tracking, and Huawei Pay NFC payments with support for various bank cards,
as well as AliPay and WeChat Pay.
Both devices are now available are now available in
China with a price tag of US$ 400. Huawei hasn’t confirmed if or not the device
will be available in other countries outside of China.
