It looks like Honor 7X was not the only device
unveiled by the Chinese company earlier today. A new Android tablet that goes
by the name WaterPlay was introduced by Honor alongside its mid-range
smartphone.
While this isn't Honor's first tablet, it might be
one of the few that comes with water resistance. As the name suggests, Honor
WaterPlay is an IP67-certified tablet, but that's not the only selling point of
the slate.
Honor announced the WaterPlay features stereo
speakers with 3D audio technology backed by Harman Kardon. Furthermore, the
physical home button houses a fingerprint button, but that's the best thing
about the WaterPlay.
Honor's tablet is powered by a 2.36 GHz octa-core
Kirin 659 processor, the same included in the Honor 7X smartphone. It also
packs either 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, or 4GB RAM and 64GB storage.
The WaterPlay sports a large 10.1-inch display with
QXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) resolution and features an 8-megapixel rear-facing
camera. The unibody metal design is only overshadowed by the slightly large
bezels.
Honor WaterPlay is powered by a 6,660 mAh battery
with fast charging support. According to the Chinese company, the tablet's
battery should charge in 2.5 hours and should offer about 13 hours of video
playback or 9 hours of internet browsing.
The tablet will be launched in China on October 24
in Silver and Champagne Gold colors. The cheapest version of Honor WaterPlay
costs US$ 300 (Wi-Fi only, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage), while the most expensive
(LTE version, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage) will sell for US$ 410.
