T-Mobile is seemingly planning to release a new
own-branded smartphone called Alchemy. According to Android Authority, the
T-Mobile Alchemy is manufactured by Coolpad (which recently launched the cheap
Defiant on T-Mobile), and will "likely" be a budget handset.
While there's no word on the features of the
T-Mobile Alchemy, the phone is pictured above. Thus, we can see that the device
has capacitive navigation buttons, a main dual rear camera (we don't know if
this can take nice photos or not), and a fingerprint scanner. The phone's rear
shell is textured, while the camera and fingerprint scanner are surrounded by
magenta accents. Like the Coolpad Defiant, the T-Mobile Alchemy should run
Android Nougat.
Right now, it's not clear when the T-Mobile Alchemy
will hit shelves, but the date seen on its home screen suggests it may not be
released before October. Another T-Mobile-branded Android smartphone that could
be launched soon (perhaps earlier than the Alchemy) is the Revvl T1. This
should feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display, being a mid-range device and probably
costing more than the Alchemy.
