Shortly after it started selling the Samsung Galaxy
A7 (2017) in the US, retailer B&H Photo Video is now also offering the
Galaxy A5 (2017). As is the case with the A7, the Galaxy A5 (2017) is not
officially sold by Samsung in the States, but B&H still offers 1-year
warranty for it.
Similar to the A7 (2017), the Samsung Galaxy A5
(2017) is dust- and water-resistant, features a fingerprint scanner on the
front, and runs Android 7 Nougat (thanks to a recent update). However, the A5
is smaller than the A7, sporting a 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED display and packing a
3000 mAh battery. The handset is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7880 processor,
further featuring 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of expandable internal memory, a 16 MP
rear camera, and another 16 MP camera on the front.
At the moment, only the gold version of the Galaxy
A5 (2017) is in stock at B&H, but the blue and black models should be
available soon, too. The phone is unlocked, has dual SIM support, and is fully
compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile. It won't work on Verizon and Sprint
though. B&H is asking US$ 329.99 for the Samsung Galaxy A5
(2017).
