The IFA event in Berlin is the perfect opportunity
for many of the chinese manufacturers to showcase their new and upcoming
products. Famous tablet and laptop manufacturers Chuwi are of no exception and
we had a chance to take a peek at their latest models including the most
promising LapBook Air, which we really had high hopes for.
And well while we still like it even after the
reveal, the expectations are sadly down a notch a bit, because the expected
Core M3 processor is not happening and we are stuck again with the Apollo Lake
N3450 Celeron. At least the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB SSD storage (plus second M.2 SSD
expansion slot) are something to really cheer for. the laptop will have 14.1
FullHD IPS screen, 1.3kg of weight, full metal build and backlit keyboard.
Presales will start at the end of September for so far undisclosed price.
Another new piece will be small form tablet Hi9 with
8,4-inch 2K screen (16:10 aspect ratio) with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution.
MT8176 processor, 4 GB RAM + 64 GB ROM and Android 7.0 out of the box sounds
pretty reasonable. And new upgraded version of the HiBox – HiBox King is the
last from the new products, sporting N3450 Apollo Lake processor, 4GB+64GB
combo, dual band Wi-Fi, 4 USB ports and 4K output support.
Chuwi Surbook is not a new product per se, but
deserves a mention too, because the Indiegogo funded convertible 2-1 device is
just making first deliveries to the customers. And with 12.3-inch 2K screen
with 3:2 aspect ratio, N3450 processor, 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 2 x full
sized USB 3.0 ports, USB Type-C port, adjustable kickstand and optional backlit
keyboard has plenty to offer too.
