ASUS has just made a new ZenFone for Verizon in the
States, the ZenFone V! It's a compact smartphone paired w/ very capable specs
and cameras on paper. The ASUS ZenFone V boasts a ZenFone 4 like metal and
glass sandwiched body w/ smaller screen and beefier specifications inside, but
sans the dual camera setup.
In particular, the handset boasts a 5.2 inch FHD
AMOLED screen w/ 1920 x 1080 resolution at 424 pixels per inch. Inside, it
boasts the ageing yet still powerful 64 bit Snapdragon 820 quad core processor
clocked at 2.2 GHz paired w/ Adreno 530 graphics. It's coupled w/ 4 GB RAM and
32 GB expandable storage up to 256 GB. It's powered by 3,000 mAh of battery
capacity that's rechargeable using via USB Type C.
On the camera part, it has a single 23 MP f/2.0 main
camera w/ laser AF, OIS, EIS, and dual tone LED flash. The main camera is also
complete w/ robust manual controls for photography. For selfies, there's an 8
MP f/2.0 front camera.
The device also has WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, LTE Cat 6, GPS,
A GPS, GLONASS, BDS, fingerprint scanner, NXP Smart AMP w/ 192 kHz / 24 bit
audio support, DTS Headphone X, and Android 7.0 Nougat OS w/ ZenUI 3.0 on top.
There's no word on the official SRP of the ASUS
ZenFone V yet, but it will only be available thru Verizon in the U.S.
