French company Archos showcased three new mobile
devices at IFA 2017 early this month. Two Android smartphones and a tablet will
be launched on the market this fall, all three within the € 280 price mark.
Besides the fact that they're shipped with Android Nougat on board, all three
devices are aimed at outdoor use, thus they have various certifications for
water and dust proof.
Archos Sense 47X is the cheapest of the three and
will be available for purchase for € 199. As the name suggests, the phone has a
4.7-inch display with HD (720p) resolution. The phone packs a 1.3 GHz quad-core
MediaTek MT6737 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory (expandable via
microSD card).
The back side features a standard 13-megapixel
camera, while the front has a secondary 5-megapixel snapper for selfies and
video calls. The phone is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery and it's IP68
certified, so it should withstand falls of up to one meter without taking any
serious damage.
Moving on to the second rugged smartphone announced
by Archos, the Sense 50X has a slightly larger 5-inch display with full HD
(1080p) resolution and it will sell for €279. It comes equipped with the same
MediaTek processor but packs 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. Archos Sense
50X drains energy from a larger 3,500 mAh battery and features both NFC (Near
Field Communications) and USB Type-C ports. Just like the Sense 47X, it's been
IP68 certified.
Last but not least, the Archos Sense 101X is an IP54
rated tablet, which means it's splash water protected (not waterproof). The
slate flaunts a 10.1-inch display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution and packs a
generous 6,000 mAh battery.
Hardware-wise, the Sense 101X is equipped with a
64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT8735 processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB internal memory.
Archos Sense 101X rugged tablet will sell later this fall for € 279.
