4K Roku Streaming Stick

Word on the street is that Roku may be gearing up to launch a 4K streaming stick of its own. According to a new report, Roku is going to release its Chromecast Ultra competitor later in the year. The biggest standout feature of this stick is going to be its ability to stream content in 4K.

According to the report, Roku is going to announce several hardware updates this fall as it normally does, but some of the 2017 models will feature a new Roku remote that expands television control and even includes a power button. A volume rocker may be added to more models. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but this makes a lot of sense if Roku wants to get in on the 4K game.

A 4K HDR Roku Streaming Stick+ has also been “confirmed” in the report. It will join the company’s mid-range lineup and will keep the dongle form factor. It’s also going to ship with the universal remote. The entry-level Roku Express is apparently going to get a “significant performance bump”.

Roku hasn’t confirmed anything so far. Recent reports have also suggested that Roku might be building its own Amazon Echo rival. Interesting things are happening at Roku.
