UMIDIGI introduced a new line of
smartphones. The S series features a completely symmetrical casing and the use
of high-quality materials in production. The start of sales has not been
announced yet, but the manufacturer has already told about the technical
characteristics of the first smartphone in the new line - UMIDIGI S. The device
received a 5.5-inch display produced by Sharp, a high-capacity battery and the
current version of Android.
UMIDIGI S is made in a thin (7.98 mm) all-metal
casing made of aluminum, while the manufacturer made it completely symmetrical.
A large 5.5-inch IGZO display with a Full HD resolution produced by the
Japanese company Sharp was located on the front. The display along with the
entire front panel is covered with a tempered glass Corning Gorilla Glass 4.
Under the screen is a fingerprint scanner, combined with the button
"Home".
On the back of the smartphone is a dual camera,
represented by Samsung sensors with a resolution of 13 and 5 megapixels. There
is also a dual LED flash. The camera supports shooting video in 4K format. For
the performance of UMIDIGI S is the energy efficient eight-core MediaTek Helio
P20 processor with a clock speed of 2.3 GHz, working in tandem with the
graphics accelerator Mali-T880 MP2 with a frequency of 900 MHz. For
multi-tasking and many applications in the background, the smartphone has 4 GB
of RAM, and for storage of applications and other data there is 64 GB with the
possibility of expanding microSD cards up to 256 GB. UMIDIGI S runs under UMI
OS based on Android 7.0 Nougat with the subsequent upgrade to Android 8.0.
UMIDIGI engineers
managed to install a 4000 mAh battery in the smartphone. The manufacturer
claims about 18 days of standby time. The smartphone also supports fast
charging technology (18 V) via a symmetrical USB Type-C connector. UMIDIGI S
will be available in two colors: black and gold. The cost and timing of the
start of sales will be announced in the near future.
