Amidst all the chaos surrounding the Samsung Galaxy
Note 8, which was launched mere hours ago, you'd be forgiven for forgetting
about other manufacturers and their respective devices.
One of them, the Xperia XZ1, stands out as the
definite flagship, thanks to its rumored high-tier specs. We've already seen
the device in CAD-based renders, but we now have the real deal in front of us.
The renders come from the Amazon listings uncovered
by Roland Quandt earlier today, which were taken down almost immediately after
news started spreading out. However, the pages are now back up, and have
provided us with the best look we've gotten at the device so far. And as an
added bonus, there's a new, previously unseen pink
color variant
As you can probably see, the classic Sony
OmniBalance design is once again back in full force, with the biggest
difference being the back panel sensor array, which is now wider than the one
in the XZ Premium, and is also centered along the horizontal axis.
The Xperia XZ1 should be unveiled on Thursday,
August 31, alongside the smaller Xperia XZ1 Compact and a mid-ranger which will
most likely be called the Xperia X1. We'll be present at the press conference,
as well as the IFA showfloor immediately afterwards, so make sure to check back
with us in time.
