Check out this awesome 1/5 scale model of MZ-80K
which is powered by a Raspberry Pi Zero and a tiny 1.5″ TFT screen giving this
retro miniature a truly modern upgrade. The tiny machine is powered by a 2000
mA LiPo battery and is equipped with a few extra components such as an Adafruit
Powerboost 500 and LiPo charger.
This miniature itself was made in 1981, just a few
years after the MZ-80K – a tape-based machine with a 2 MHz CPU, 20 KB of RAM,
and a built-in monochrome monitor – hit the market. The miniature has since
been upgraded with some modern components including a Raspberry Pi Zero W and
1.5″ TFT screen giving this retro miniature a modern upgrade.
