Raspberry Pi Zero Powered Sharp MZ-80K Miniature PC


Check out this awesome 1/5 scale model of MZ-80K which is powered by a Raspberry Pi Zero and a tiny 1.5″ TFT screen giving this retro miniature a truly modern upgrade. The tiny machine is powered by a 2000 mA LiPo battery and is equipped with a few extra components such as an Adafruit Powerboost 500 and LiPo charger.

This miniature itself was made in 1981, just a few years after the MZ-80K – a tape-based machine with a 2 MHz CPU, 20 KB of RAM, and a built-in monochrome monitor – hit the market. The miniature has since been upgraded with some modern components including a Raspberry Pi Zero W and 1.5″ TFT screen giving this retro miniature a modern upgrade.
