Phillips is a company we don’t really talk much
about here on Gizchina because their devices have a tendency to underwhelm. The
company rarely puts out any devices, and when they do, they struggle to receive
any sort of recognition. This continues to ring true in my mind with their
latest S310X.
Looking at the specifications, it seems to be a
lower mid-range smartphone. It has a sad 5-inch TFT display with a resolution
of 1280×720. It comes with a measly 2,000 mAh battery and runs on a 1.25 GHz
quad-core processor. It’ll come in 1GB, 2GB and 3GB RAM options coupled with
8GB, 16GB and 32GB internal storage space.
There is a 2MP front camera for selfies and 8MP auto
focus shooter at the back. It’ll ship with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box,
and it’ll probably stay like that forever. Honestly, this is just a fairly
underwhelming device, like the rest of their portfolio.
If there’s one saving grace for the device, it’s
that it supports VoLTE, so that’s good. Outside of that however, it mostly just
reminds me of why I don’t see much for Phillips around here. Pricing remains
unknown, though we imagine it can’t possibly sell for much.
