We have seen a number of renders of what Apple’s new
iPhone 8 is supposed to look like and now we have a video which shows a dummy
version of Apple’s new flagship. The video was put together by MacRumors using
a dummy model from mobile accessories sites Mobile Fun and Olixar.
The new iPhone 8 will apparently come with an edge
to edge display and will feature a stainless steel chassis and a glass back.
The handset will also come with a new Apple A11 processor and more RAM than the
current devices.
The Apple A11 processor is said to give a
performance boost of around 30 percent over the Apple A10, the handset will
also feature Apple’s new iOS 11. Apple have also update the cameras for this
years iPhone. The handset will come with a dual camera setup which will be
vertical rather than horizontal like the current handsets.
Apple will introduce facial recognition with the new
iPhone 8, this will be used to unlock the handset and also for Apple Pay. It is
not clear as yet on whether Apple’s new iPhone will have a fingerprint scanner.
The home button on the handset is gone and the scanner will not be on the back
of the device. It is possible that the fingerprint scanner will be under the
display, although rumors have suggested that this will not be available in this
years iPhone.
We are expecting the iPhone 8 to be made official
some time in September, along with a new iPhone 7S and 7S Plus.
