Kingston has launched KC1000 NVMe PCIe SSD, the
company’s first NVMe PCIe SSD in India.
It is available in either a standard M.2 2280 form factor or as a half-height,
half-length add-in card. It uses native OS NVMe drivers, is available in a
range of capacities from 240GB to 960GB and is over 2x faster than SATA-based
SSDs and over 40x faster than a 7200RPM hard-disk drive.
Kingston said that the KC1000 is built for the power
user, providing the ultimate, low-latency performance boost for
resource-demanding applications including high-resolution video editing, data
visualization, gaming and other data intensive workload environments where
traditional storage solutions are unable to keep pace with data demand.
The Kingston KC1000 SSD comes with a HHH adapter and
is priced at Rs. 16,000 (MRP) for 240GB, Rs. 26,000 for 480GB (MRP) and Rs.
51,000 (MRP) for 960GB. It is backed by
a limited five-year warranty and will be available in select online and retail
stores.
