Apparently Cubot are jumping on the 18:9 display
ratio bandwagon as well, following other Chinese phone makers. The upcoming
device namely called Cubot X18 has been teased in a short Youtube video
which we can check out down below.
What we see in the video is a prototype render, so
of course the device won’t look exactly like that, but what we can get from
watching it is that Cubot will be covering the device entirely in glass (2.5D
to be precise), just like the popular Samsung S8 and S8 Plus. The company also
let us know the display will be fully laminated so it should look better than
those other entry-level / mid-range devices.
Cubot also revealed some of the specs of the
upcoming Cubot X18. On the device we’ll find a big 5.7-inch 18:9 display,
powered by a MediaTek MT6737T CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz, 3GB of RAM and 32G of
internal storage. The smartphone will be running the latest Android 7.0 Nougat
OS out of the box.
Cubot say we will know when the X18 will be released
by the end of the month, all we can do now is wait to see how good it’ll
actually look and how much it’ll cost. More info will be available
on Cubot’s official website.
