AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1900X

At the conference SIGGRAPH 2017 AMD, in addition to video cards Radeon RX Vega, introduced processors Ryzen Threadripper. It is worth noting that previously only two models of the HEDT class were reported: the Threadripper 1950X and the Threadripper 1920X. However, during the event it became clear that the assortment will be replenished with another available model - the 1900X. The release of three new processors should be expected in the next month, and in the meantime, developers told that they can offer new chips.

All three AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors have been supported by XFR technology (Extended Frequency Range), thanks to which it is possible to automatically increase the frequency (beyond the Precision Boost limit) by an additional 200 MHz. The novelties also received a PCI Express 3.0 interface controller on 64 lines. The nominal value of TDP is equal to 180 W.

At the disposal of model Ryzen Threadripper 1950X there are 16 cores, calculated on 32 streams of commands. The novelty works with a frequency of 3.4 GHz. Meanwhile, the working frequency of the 12-core Ryzen Threadripper 1920X is 3.5 GHz. The model is capable of executing 24 command streams. The most affordable solution from the trinity was the eight-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper processor with a clock speed of 3.8 GHz, capable of performing 16 command streams. The increased frequency of all three new products is 4.0 GHz, while the frequency of XFR is 4.2 GHz.

It is expected that as of August 10, there will be about 20 different versions of liquid cooling systems and five air cooling systems on sale from a wide range of manufacturers. The first to be on sale debut a 16-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X and 12-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1920X. You can buy them on August 10 at a price of US$ 999 and US$ 799, respectively. Meanwhile, the eight-core AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1900X will be available later - August 31 at a price of US$ 550.
