Xiaomi unveiled its Ninebot Plus, a successor
to 2015’s Ninebot Mini, a really impressive Segway-like vehicle that offers
impressive speed, durability and ease of use.
In case most of you don’t remember, Ninebot acquired
Segway (the American self-balancing scooter manufacturer) back in April 2015
with the help of Xiaomi, a major investor in Ninebot, so today it was only
logical for the company to unveil its newest member of the family.
The Ninebot Plus is only available in white color,
and features two 11-inch inflatable non-slip tires along with a new magnesium
alloy elastic frame. It comes with IP54 certification and supports a maximum
load of 100kg, while weighing 16kg and measuring 57.7 cm × 28 cm × 62cm
allowing for great mobility and ease of use. It can reach a maximum speed of
18km/h and it’s powered by two 400W motors, that can offer a turbo boost of
2500W combined.
Its 329Wh battery system is made up of 42 18650 high
power lithium batteries that can last up to 35km on a single charge. Charging
time comes in at 5.5hrs.
According to its official announcement, the Ninebot
Plus will go on sale on July 11 with a price tag of ¥ 3499 (US$ 514). It will be
available on the official Mi website, at Mi Home stores, and Jingdong Mall (JD.com).
