Finnish company HMD Global has more than a couple of
Nokia-branded smartphones in the pipeline, but we only know about a few of
them. The latest reports say there will be 6 or 7 Nokia-branded smartphones
that will make their debut on the market by the end of 2017.
Two of these rumored phones are known as Nokia D1
(or D1C) and Nokia E1. The former is clearly a mid-range smartphone that we
reported about on many occasion. The E1 is a newcomer that we've only learned
about recently. Judging by a new report that details Nokia E1's
specs, this is likely to be one of the cheapest smartphones launched by HMD
this year. If we are to believe previous rumors, the E1 could be priced for
sale at around US$ 150.
The phone is said to sport either a 5.2- or 5.3-inch
display with HD (720p) resolution. It will be powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core
Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor paired with an Adreno 308 graphics processing
unit and 2GB of RAM.
Nokia E1 will feature 16GB of storage inside, as
well as a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a secondary 5-megapixel camera
in the front for selfies and video calls. It's more than likely the phone will
ship with Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box.
