HMD Global is the Finnish company that’s making
Nokia-branded devices these days. They confirmed a few months ago that they
were going to release the Nokia 6 in the United States. This handset has been
popular in other markets, so it will be interesting to see how it does in the
U.S. Customers in the country who have been waiting to get their hands on one
can finally do so.
The Nokia 6 is now available for purchase in the
United States if you want one. The Nokia 6 is going to be available from Amazon
exclusively, at first. Two variants are being sold: A regular retail version
and an Amazon Prime exclusive that costs a bit less but is supported by ads.
It is a decent mid-range smartphone for the price,
with a 5.5 inch full HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor with 3GB
of RAM and 32GB of storage. There is also a 16 megapixel camera on back. The
regular version is available online from Amazon for US$ 229 unlocked and
off-contract. If you don’t mind ads you can purchase the Amazon version for US$ 179. You have to be a Prime member to purchase that version. Both have full
support for T-Mobile’s 4G LTE network in the country while only partial support
is offered for AT&T’s 4G network. Verizon and Sprint customers are out of
luck sadly.
