Motorola showcased six new Moto Mods concepts at an
event in Ghana. Moto Mods can be attached at the back of the Moto Z, Moto Z
Play and Moto Z2 Play smartphones.
First up, Motorola has announced the Moto 360 Camera
mod that features two camera lenses and is built onto the top of a smartphone
shell case. It is capable of capturing 360-degree videos and images. Up next is
a ROKR Mod that is aimed at improved audio output. It essentially adds a
powerful speaker to the phone for a loud and clear audio experience. JBL
SoundBoost and now SoundBoost 2 speakers are already available in the market.
Motorola also announced Studio Mod is a high-quality
microphone for recording music. It has been made by collaborating with
Marshall. Similar to Moto 360 Camera mod, this one sticks on the top of the
shell case. Up next, the DirecTV mod allows live streaming of TV broadcast for
DTV subscribers via an HDMI DirecTV streaming stick plugged into your handset.
There is a DSLR Mod which as the name suggests is a mod with DSLR camera lens
support which brings DSLR features to a smartphone.
Finally there is Action Mod which comes with a
rotatable camera that can be used for shooting outdoor sports. It must be noted
that all of these mods are just concepts
at the moment.
