Leica has announced the brand new TL2 mirrorless
interchangeable lens camera. It is the latest in Leica's series of TL mount
cameras.
The TL2 has a newly developed 24 megapixel APS-C
sensor along with a new Maestro II image processor. Leica promises improvements
all around, including color, contrast dynamic range and resolution. Added to
that is improved autofocusing speed of 165 milliseconds, electronic silent
shutter up to 1/40,000s and 20fps burst mode.
The new TL2 also has improved video capabilities,
with 4K30, 1080p60 and 720p120 slow motion options available. The new camera
has a redesigned interface that is customizable on a 3.7-inch touchscreen LCD
that is eight times more responsive than before.
In terms of connectivity, the TL2 has built-in
Wi-Fi, HDMI, and USB 3.0. The camera is natively compatible with TL-mount
lenses and with the SL-mount lenses using an adapter. The camera will be
available in a choice of black or silver, both made entirely out of a solid
block of aluminum, and will be priced at US$ 1950 for the body.
