There have been a lot of rumors about the new iPhone
8 over the last few weeks, the handset is expected to launch some time in
September. Yesterday we heard a rumor that the iPhone 8 could be made official
at an Apple press event on the 6th of September. This date has not officially
been confirmed by Apple as yet.
The iPhone 8 is rumored to come with a 5.8 inch OLED
display. As yet there are no details on what sort of resolution the handset
will come with, although we suspect it could be a Quad HD display with a 2560 x
1440 pixel resolution.
Apple are expected to introduce a new mobile
processor with the iPhone 8. The Apple A11 which is expected to give
performance improvements of around 30 percent for both processing and graphics
over the current mobile processor used in the iPhone 7. The handset will come
with Apple’s iOS 11 which was unveiled at WWDC 2017 in June.
Apple’s new iPhone 8 will come with updated cameras,
we are expecting to see a new FaceTime camera on the front and also new dual cameras
on the back. As we can see from the pictures, the rear cameras on the handset
are rumored to be in a vertical position. The cameras on the current iPhone 7
Plus are in a horizontal setup. As yet there are no details on how many
megapixels these new iPhone 8 cameras will come with.
The design of the new iPhone 8 is expected to be
different to the current handsets. The device is rumored to feature a stainless
steel chassis and a glass back. The front display on the handset is expected to
be an almost bezel free display. The device will apparently not feature a front
fingerprint scanner.
If the rumored date of the 6th of September for
Apple’s iPhone event is correct then we would expect the handset to go up for
pre-order the same week. Apple normally
starts pre-orders on a Friday, so this would happen on the 8th of September. If
these dates are correct then Apple would launch their iPhone 8 a week later on
the 15th of September.
Apple are aso rumored to launch two other devices at
the same time, the iPhone 7S and 7S Plus. These handsets will get a new design
and hardware and will feature LCD displays. A soon as we get some more details
about Apple’s new iPhone 8, we will let you guys know.
