The new Nova 2 series was officially unveiled
earlier this year, but none of the smartphones announced made it outside China.
However, that's about to change since the Nova 2 Plus has just been spotted at
FCC (Federal Communications Commission) where they have been approved for a
U.S. release.
The smartphones go by model numbers Huawei BAC-L03
and BAC-L23, whereas the Chinese version has a different model number
(BAC-AL00). The two smartphones listed at FCC are two variations of the same
device, which is why we believe the United States won't be the only country
where the Nova 2 Plus smartphones will be available for purchase very soon.
Huawei BAC-L03 is the single SIM version of the Nova
2 Plus, while the BAC-L23 is the dual-SIM variant. Both phones received FCC
certification recently and could make their debut outside China in the coming
weeks.
Huawei Nova 2 Plus is a mid-ranger that features a
large 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display and a massive 3,340 mAh battery. Also,
the smartphone is powered by an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 processor, paired
with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal memory (expandable up to 256GB).
More importantly, the Nova 2 Plus is a cheaper
alternative for those who absolutely must own a smartphone with a dual-camera
setup. Huawei's handset comes with 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel cameras on the
back, along with an impressive 20-megapixel selfie camera.
Huawei Nova 2 Plus runs Android 7.0 Nougat operating
system and costs around € 400 in China, but it might be priced higher in other
regions.
