The Gretel S55 does look
sleek and the red and black color combo is quite nice to the eyes; the
smartphone will also be available in Blue, Black and Gold.
On the back of the device we can see there are two
cameras which the company states are an 8MP GC8024 + 0.3MP GC0310 image
sensors, with one being wide angle and the secondary packing a telephoto lens
with bokeh effect. Below the cameras we find a fingerprint scanner.
The Gretel S55 comes with a
5.5-inch HD display coated in 2.5D curved glass and it’s powered by a Mediatek
MT6580A processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage (expandable). The handset is
dual SIM dual standby and works on 2G GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz and 3G WCDMA 900/2100MHz. Other than that, we find
a 2600 mAh battery and Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box.
We still have no idea how much the Gretel S55 will
be costing but given the spec sheet we’re quite confident it’ll be under the US$ 100 mark. Gretel say it’ll go on presale starting Monday, July 24; follow them
on Facebook to know the latest.
